Buying sherry, a play in one act.
Kroger Wine Guy: Do you need any help?
Me: I am looking for a sweet sherry.
KWG: Haha! Ha! Ha! That is a redundancy! All sherries are sweet.
Me: …
KWG: Even dry sherries are sweet!
Me: …
KWG: Of course, this one here is the sweetest.
Me: Thank you.
And people wonder why I prefer to buy things without talking to anyone.

I can so see this happening.
You came to mind today when I was looking everywhere for REAL popcorn salt. Yah see, I’ve taken a page out of your ice cream passion book and started looking or a gourmet way to make popcorn. The microwave is really not working for me. So I’m now making my popcorn the old-fashioned way… oil, pan, stove-top.
Seems you have to go online to get powdered salt or popcorn salt. It’s not at any of the megaplex shopping groceries. Meh.
You need to make a trip west and do some sherry, port and apertif tasting. There are hugely wonderful domestically produced after dinner wines. Until then…try some Portuguese tawny ports. Way delicious!
