I have been getting numerous unsolicited emails on “market news” from an outfit — or perhaps it’s a person — called “The Bull Bear.” They’ve all been marked as spam in gmail, but it’s not often that spam persists in using the same sender name — makes it darn easy to filter. Which makes me think this person does not consider what they are doing to be spam.

A few weeks ago it looked like someone had sold the Bull Bear a clue, because they started sending email after email warning that they were instituting a new emailing policy. Going forward you would have to opt into their emails, and anyone on the list who didn’t respond would be cut, thus missing out on vital market advice.

The clue must have been a loaner, because after the final dire warning message (something along the lines of “today is the last day!”) the email volume from them has continued unabated. I feel a little betrayed. Which is probably evidence that I need to get out more.
